The real estate market is changing, there is no doubt about that. As the Fed has continued to raise interest rates to combat inflation demand has decreased because buyers are getting “priced out” and can no longer afford the home they desire. Some will rent or continue to rent and others will have to look at less expensive alternatives so that they can qualify if they do want to own.
As a real estate investor, you need to be aware of market conditions and adjust your business/buying as needed.
There is good news, or positives that will come out of this which include:
- We are working our way back to a “balanced” market and away from a white hot sellers’ market
- This means inventory is rising and you will have more properties available to purchase
- Sellers won’t be as difficult and will be more open to negotiating on price
